The "Hot Pot Exercise"

The "Hot Pot Exercise" is a means of explaining how perception influences the decision-making process. This is especially important when presenting to the trier of fact (which could be the judge and jury). Force events are personal encounters others often have great difficulty understanding. Most choose to apply their own background, training and experience to the situation, instead of considering that of the individuals involved. This exercise helps people better explain perception and fear, as well as their impact of the force decision-making process.
